Laboratory and space spectroscopy of DCO +
The rotational spectra of DCOand its two isotopomers DCO + and DCO + , produced in a negative glow discharge cell, have been recorded in the 137–792 GHz region, which includes lines from J = 2 ← 1 up to J = 11 ← 10. The determined rotational and centrifugal distortion constants allow to predict the DCOrotational spectrum up to 1000 GHz with an accuracy of 1 part in 10 or better. This is importa...
متن کاملHidden Disk Areas: HPA and DCO
This paper focuses on certain manufacturer hidden areas of a hard disk, specifically Host Protected Areas (HPA) and Device Configuration Overlays (DCO). These areas can be problematic for computer forensic investigators, since many of the common industry tools cannot detect the presence of the HPA and DCO. A review of the ATA specifications and recent white papers indicate that these areas can ...
متن کاملLaboratory spectroscopy of astrophysically relevant carbon species.
Carbon is one of the most common elements in the solar system, with a fractional abundance of 10(-4) relative to hydrogen. Thus, it is not surprising that over 100 carbon-bearing species have been definitively detected in the interstellar medium via their rotational, infrared, and/or electronic transitions. In order to identify these species, laboratory spectra are needed for comparison to astr...
متن کاملNonlinear Structures in Space and Laboratory Plasmas
Coherent nonlinear structures in the form of vortical motions are frequently observed in laboratory devices and in auroral plasmas. Our objective here is to suggest that any realistic description of plasma vortices must involve three-dimensional nonlinear wave models, which account for the nonlinear coupling between finite amplitude electrostatic and/or electromagnetic disturbances. Specificall...
متن کاملDetection of DCO in a circumstellar disk
We report the first detection of DCO in a circumstellar disk. The DCO J=5–4 line at 360.169 GHz is observed with the 15m James Clerk Maxwell Telescope in the disk around the pre-main sequence star TW Hya. Together with measurements of the HCO and HCO J=4–3 lines, this allows an accurate determination of the DCO/HCO ratio in this disk. The inferred value of 0.035±0.015 is close to that found in ...
